SHE

There are no words she says,
How do I then tell of my sorrow
How do they who are but mine, so unlike me?
Why didn’t I get to choose them?
Why must I be here,
Floating alone mid sea
For the shores are not mine
And the waters are not for me
Where must I head now?
For the shores are not mine
And the waters are not for me
I shed tears for one other woman today,
Who couldn’t speak for herself
Who this world ruined so selflessly
For a woman it is I weep,
And a woman that made me.
A woman it was who caused it,
Still another woman they can’t see.

4.

There’s a lull in the snow,
there’s still beauty in the rain.
I haven’t been to the shore yet
there’s still too much left to do
there goes the playful cyclist
I didn’t tell him yet, I used to be playful too
Did you see the sun’s child go?
I was to stop him, but changed my mind
Isn’t all of it better now,
Aren’t you happier?
It was all supposed to be warm, wasn’t it
Then where did the embers go
She only wanted a drop of rain
A ray of sunshine, they saw it come
Or was there a blind fold

3.

Things just run,
They run out of hand.
You’re grabbing on too long
The enchantment was too little.
She picked the child off the floor
And she told her,
It’s going to happen.
And then she turned around
Went up the stairs and cried just a little.
They just kept blowing away.
Like the breeze.
The cold winter breeze,
Or wait, was it the summer?
She’d lost track.
She knew how to be happy
She just didn’t know why
Why did it all still bother her?
She understood didn’t she?
Was it all, too much?
Was she too ignorant?
She watched every grain of sand glisten and flow away
Each, on a journey of its own.
It hit her that she was the sand too
Was she not?
Why didn’t she flow away like them?
She swam where they flew.
She kept wanting to fly,
Was her swimming flying
Time would tell.

2.

You tell her that and she says
Futile are the matters of the world dreamer
You dream and lose yourself
To who, to what?
I talk to her and I can see
She only weeps on my knee
If I were to ever understand I’d tell you
Go dream, listen to her
Tell her she’s wrong
But who would know?
For we’re all just passing by
Prisoners of these streets
No walls no doors
No boundaries and yet no roads.
Come feel her
She’s here, everywhere
You’ll see someday
I only say you mustn’t dream
She says these are futile matters of the world dreamer.

1.

I want to run.
Away. Far away.
Run into the wind.
I want to be the wind.
Had it all. Gone it is.
Where did it go.
Into the endless abyss.
They kept calling it life.
I could only not make sense of it.
How could I.
For them I was the misfit. The misplaced, misspelt.
I couldnt understand why they kept talking.
Why they kept talking about me. About us. We weren’t even there.
We had only been sailors of sea.
They didn’t even look at the sea.
They’d never see it. Never understand it. It’s too deep for them.
But now it’s not us anymore.
I look across and see it.
They’re not here anymore. They don’t stare anymore.
But you’re not here anymore.
